Description
An orthopedic physical therapist evaluates, treats, and manages musculoskeletal injuries affecting bones, joints, muscles, and ligaments to reduce pain and improve function. Patient evaluation: Conduct thorough evaluations to assess a patient's physical function, including strength, movement, and range of motion.
Treatment planning: Develop and implement personalized treatment plans to help patients reach their rehabilitation goals.
Manual therapy and exercise: Use a variety of techniques, including exercises, stretches, and hands-on manual therapy, to relieve pain and increase strength.
Patient education: Educate patients on proper exercise techniques, injury prevention, and lifestyle modifications to promote long-term musculoskeletal health.
Collaboration: Work with other healthcare professionals, such as physicians and surgeons, to ensure coordinated and comprehensive patient care.
Documentation: Keep detailed records of patients' progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
