Physical Therapist (Early Childhood Programs)
Location: Gillette, WY
Organization: Child Development Services of Campbell County
Position Type: Full-Time, Exempt
About the Role
Join a mission-driven team dedicated to helping every child reach their fullest potential. As a Physical Therapist with Child Development Services of Campbell County (CDS-CC), you will provide comprehensive physical therapy services for children from birth through age five. This includes screening, evaluation, intervention, and family coaching within home, classroom, and community settings. You’ll collaborate with families, teachers, and a multidisciplinary team to support each child’s growth and development in an inclusive, play-based environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver physical therapy services in inclusive classrooms, family homes, and community settings.
- Conduct developmental and physical therapy evaluations, interpret results, and collaborate with the team to develop IFSP/IEP goals and treatment plans.
- Administer screenings for children (birth to five) referred by families, staff, or community partners.
- Provide family-centered coaching and guidance to promote successful carryover at home.
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and staff to ensure coordinated, effective service delivery.
- Develop or adapt materials and strategies to meet children’s physical development needs.
- Document therapy sessions, progress, and case information accurately and in a timely manner.
- Participate actively in multidisciplinary team meetings and staff development opportunities.
- Maintain compliance with all federal and state regulations governing services to children with disabilities, including IDEA and Wyoming rules.
- Support program reporting, grant goals, and Medicaid documentation and billing.
- Maintain required continuing education and licensure.
Minimum Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- Graduate degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program
- Three to five years of experience in pediatric physical therapy preferred
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered
Licenses and Certifications:
- Wyoming Physical Therapy License (required)
- Current CPR/First Aid certification or able to obtain(required)
- Valid Class C driver’s license
Ability to pass State and Federal background checks

Requirements
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of:
- Pediatric physical therapy principles and practices
- Typical and atypical child development
- Early intervention and inclusive education strategies
- Medical conditions and disabilities affecting motor development
- IDEA and Wyoming rules for services to children with disabilities
Skill in:
- Building positive, collaborative relationships with children, families, and colleagues
- Clear communication, both written and verbal
- Organizing documentation and maintaining confidentiality
- Using standardized assessments and data-driven intervention planning
Ability to:
- Plan and implement individualized therapy based on each child’s needs
- Collaborate effectively in a team-based early childhood setting
- Meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities
- Demonstrate flexibility, empathy, and professional integrity
Physical Demands:
This position requires moderate physical exertion, including occasionally lifting to 50 pounds, frequently lifting to 20 pounds, and constantly lifting to 10 pounds.
