Metro is seeking a motivated, compassionate, and skilled PART-TIME Physical Therapist Assistant dedicated to helping patients reach their goals through personalized treatment plans. Responsibilities:
- Actively participates in patient care, notifying the supervising Physical Therapist of matters concerning the patient's condition.
- Follows the Plan of Care established by the Physical Therapist and practices within state practice guidelines.
- Exercises sound judgement, care, professionalism and skill in the performance of duties.
- Instructs and counsels patients effectively in exercises and recovery.
- Identifies patient's needs and exhibits compassion and caring.
- Conveys potential modifications ensuring patient's progress, safety and comfort to the Physical Therapist.
- Completes documentation in the EMR to support the delivery of physical therapy services
- Under direct supervision of and with co-signature by a PT, records daily notes.
- Provides information to patients by answering questions and requests.
- Helps treat patients by applying ice or heat packs, helping patients onto exercise equipment, monitoring motion; tracking walking time and distance; performing prescribed exercises and strengthening techniques as requested by PT.
- Educates patients by demonstrating proper use of equipment and exercise routines.
- Maintains patient confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential.
- Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Enhances physical therapy department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments, is a team player.
- Reports any issues needing resolution to Physical Therapists.

Qualifications
- PTA, Licensed to practice in the State of New York
- Hands on experience with therapeutic exercises, functional training and physical modalities
- Ability to communicate and instruct effectively
- Ability to delegate appropriate support care to non-licensed staff and serve as a resource in their training.
Additional Information
The anticipated base hourly range for this position is $28-36. Salary is based on various factors, including relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications, and geography.
