Key Responsibilities
- Assist with Patient Treatment: Collaborate with PTs in executing individualized treatment plans, which may include implementing therapeutic exercises, utilizing manual therapy techniques, and employing various physical modalities.
- Patient Monitoring: Observe patient responses during therapy sessions, adjusting treatments as necessary to ensure safety and effectiveness in their recovery journey.
- Patient Education: Educate clients about their specific conditions and recovery processes, instructing them on exercising techniques and proper body mechanics to enhance their rehabilitation at home.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of patient interactions and progress, adhering to clinic guidelines and legal standards for compliance and quality care.
- Assist in Patient Mobility: Safely aid patients in transferring during therapy sessions, ensuring comfort and safety while promoting independence.
- Maintain Equipment: Regularly check and ensure all therapy equipment is sanitized and operational, reinforcing our commitment to patient safety and health standards.
- Collaborate with Therapists and Staff: Engage with physical therapists and other healthcare team members to refine treatment strategies and maintain high-quality rehabilitation practices.
- Provide Administrative Support: Assist with various administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, patient intakes, and general office duties, contributing to the clinic's overall efficiency.
Patient Population / Client Focus
Your work will focus on a diverse patient population, including those recovering from orthopedic surgeries, chronic pain conditions, and various musculoskeletal injuries. Each patient presents unique challenges and goals, and your role will be crucial in delivering personalized support that addresses their rehabilitation needs effectively.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor's Degree in a related field from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
- Current and valid PTA license in the state of California (or eligibility to obtain one).
- Strong foundational knowledge of therapeutic exercises and orthopedic rehabilitation principles.
- Effective communication skills for engaging with patients, their families, and healthcare team members.
- A steadfast commitment to patient-centered care, demonstrating empathy and professionalism.
- Capability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team environment.
Preferred Experience
- At least 2 years of direct experience working as a PTA in orthopedic or outpatient setting.
- Familiarity with advanced therapeutic modalities such as ultrasound and electrical stimulation to enhance treatment effectiveness.
- Prior experience in documentation management systems to streamline patient data processing.
Compensation and Benefits
We offer a competitive salary ranging from $280,000 to $300,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
