Ensign Physical Therapy is seeking a dedicated and skilled Physical Therapist Assistant to join our team in Gilbert, Arizona. This full-time position offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative work environment within a hospital setting, where you'll directly impact patient rehabilitation and recovery.

Work Environment
Located in Gilbert, Arizona, our hospital facility boasts state-of-the-art equipment and a supportive clinical team dedicated to patient care. As a member of our onsite staff, you will work closely with physical therapists, doctors, and nursing staff to deliver comprehensive rehabilitation services. Your typical work hours will be Monday to Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional flexibility for patient needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver direct patient care in accordance with established physical therapy practices and the guidelines set by the supervising physical therapist, tailored to each individual's plan of care.
- Implement therapeutic interventions aimed at pain relief, function restoration, and maximizing patient performance through engaging in active and passive exercises.
- Guide patients through muscle reeducation, gait and functional training, and assist with transfer activities, ensuring patient safety and achieving therapy goals.
- Utilize a variety of physical agents, including heat, cold, ultrasound, and massage techniques, to facilitate optimal healing.
- Monitor and document patient progress, communicating any changes in patient condition to the physical therapy supervisor and other healthcare personnel as required.
- Provide education and support to patients regarding the use of mobility devices like wheelchairs, crutches, and braces to enhance their independence.
- Maintain clinical records, including progress notes that document treatment plans, progress, and outcomes within designated timelines.
- Engage in multidisciplinary team meetings and participate in in-service education programs to enhance personal and organizational knowledge.
- Contribute to quality assessment and performance improvement initiatives within the organization.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support the overall goals of the clinic.
Patient Population / Client Focus
The ideal candidate should be comfortable working with a wide range of patients, including those recovering from surgery, sports injuries, accidents, and chronic conditions. Our diverse client population requires skilled therapy tailored to individual needs, fostering recovery and rehabilitation through personalized, compassionate care.
Qualifications
- Hold a Bachelor's degree from an accredited physical therapy assistant program recognized by the American Physical Therapy Association.
- Possess a current state certification or license to practice as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
- Maintain current CPR certification to ensure patient safety and emergency readiness.
- Have a valid driver's license and access to a reliable, insured vehicle for potential travel needs associated with patient care.
Preferred Experience
A minimum of two years of experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant in a clinical or hospital setting is preferred, with exposure to various patient demographics and therapy interventions being advantageous.
Compensation and Benefits
Ensign Physical Therapy offers a competitive salary range of USD 60,000 – 80,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
