Work Environment
This position is primarily onsite within our home care facility, designed to offer a warm and supportive atmosphere. Our team employs a holistic approach to care, working closely together to ensure that each resident receives individualized attention and support. In this collaborative environment, you will have access to various resources and tools, enabling you to provide optimal care to our residents. The standard work hours will be Monday to Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM, allowing for work-life balance while achieving patient care goals.
Key Responsibilities
As a Physical Therapist at Bristol Assisted Living Center, your day-to-day responsibilities will encompass a range of crucial tasks, including:
- Performing comprehensive assessments of patients' physical capabilities, focusing on strength, range of motion, mobility, and functional independence.
- Implementing evidence-based therapeutic techniques that include manual therapy, therapeutic exercises, electrical stimulation, and modalities such as ultrasound therapy tailored to individual needs.
- Creating detailed and personalized treatment plans that reflect the residents' functional goals while closely monitoring their progress and making adjustments as necessary.
- Educating residents and their families on effective exercise regimens, safety practices, and injury prevention strategies that can be incorporated into daily living.
- Documenting patient interactions meticulously to maintain compliance with healthcare regulations and standards, including progress notes and treatment plans.
- Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare clinicians such as physicians, nurses, and occupational therapists to ensure a seamless continuum of care.
- Delivering compassionate care and acting as an advocate for the physical and emotional needs of each resident to foster their overall well-being.
Patient Population / Client Focus
This role primarily focuses on working with elderly residents, many of whom may experience age-related physical challenges or chronic conditions requiring specialized care. By employing dedicated therapeutic strategies, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing their physical capabilities and promoting independence within their living environments.
Qualifications
To qualify for this position, candidates must possess:
- A current license to practice as a Physical Therapist in the state of Oregon.
- A bachelor's degree in physical therapy or a related field from an accredited institution.
- At least two years of direct experience working within physical therapy, preferably in an assisted living or geriatric setting.
- Proficient knowledge in orthopedic rehabilitation and neurological therapy methodologies.
- Outstanding communication skills, enabling effective interaction with residents, families, and the healthcare team.
- A patient-centered approach, exhibiting empathy and commitment to achieving the best outcomes for elderly patients.
- The capability to manage a caseload of up to seven patients daily, ensuring individualized attention and care.
Preferred Experience
While not mandatory, experience in geriatrics or working in an assisted living environment is preferred. Familiarity with specific rehabilitation protocols, care plan development, and your ability to utilize various therapy equipment will greatly enhance your candidacy.
Compensation and Benefits
