Work Environment
This role is onsite, with therapists visiting patients in their homes, creating a community-focused and personalized approach to care. The collaborative environment at Move Ease Therapies encourages transparency and communication, providing you with the freedom to design your own schedule within regular operating hours, Monday to Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM. As part of our team, you'll have the support of experienced colleagues and access to essential resources to facilitate effective patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough and detailed evaluations of each patient's physical abilities, crafting tailored treatment plans that address their specific health goals.
- Provide skilled physical therapy services, employing a variety of methods such as therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, and advanced modalities suited to the geriatric population.
- Regularly monitor and document patient progress, making necessary adjustments to treatment plans to optimize recovery and health outcomes.
- Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary healthcare team, including physicians, occupational therapists, and speech therapists, to ensure holistic patient care.
- Educate patients and their families on therapeutic techniques, appropriate home exercise programs, and injury prevention strategies relevant to their lifestyle.
- Implement comprehensive fall prevention programs and enforce safety measures to minimize risks in the patients' living environments.
- Stay abreast of the latest advancements within the field of physical therapy and engage in continuing education opportunities to further enhance therapeutic skills and knowledge.
- Uphold ethical and professional standards in practice, commitment to patient confidentiality, and the provision of high-quality care.
Patient Population / Client Focus
You will primarily work with geriatric patients, focusing on enhancing their physical abilities, promoting independence, and improving their overall quality of life. Understanding the unique challenges faced by older adults, including mobility limitations and chronic conditions, is essential in delivering effective therapy that truly meets their needs.
Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy; additional qualifications such as a Doctorate or Master's degree are highly regarded.
- Possession of an active state license as a Physical Therapist.
- Experience in geriatric therapy is preferred, though new graduates with a strong dedication to the field are welcome to apply.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, facilitating effective interactions with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
- Proficiency in the use of electronic medical records (EMR) systems to track patient data and document care practices.
- Knowledge of evidence-based practices applicable in physical therapy.
