Opti Flex Physical Therapy, a leading outpatient therapy clinic located in North Houston, Texas, is seeking a full-time Physical Therapist to join our dedicated team. This role is primarily focused on providing comprehensive therapy services in the home care setting to our geriatric clients. Work Environment
The work setting for this position is primarily onsite in our patients' homes, where compassionate care is delivered in a comfortable and familiar environment. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough evaluations of patients' physical abilities, assessing their unique needs and goals to create bespoke treatment plans.
- Deliver skilled therapy interventions that may include therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques, and state-of-the-art modalities tailored for geriatric patients.
- Regularly monitor and document patients' progress using electronic medical records (EMRs) and ensure that treatment plans are adjusted based on their evolving needs.
- Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare providers, including physicians, occupational therapists, and speech therapists, to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Educate patients and their families about effective therapeutic techniques, home exercise programs, and essential injury prevention strategies.
- Implement effective fall prevention programs and safety protocols tailored to the needs of our patients within the home setting.
- Stay informed of the latest advancements in physical therapy through continuing education, enhancing your therapeutic skills and expertise.
- Uphold the highest ethical and professional standards in patient care, ensuring confidentiality and dedication to improving patient outcomes.
Patient Population / Client Focus
You will be focusing on our geriatric clientele, who often face unique challenges related to aging such as reduced mobility, chronic conditions, and recovery from surgeries or injuries. Your role will directly impact their independence and quality of life, helping them regain strength and mobility through tailored therapy interventions.
Qualifications
- A graduate degree (Bachelor's or higher) in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution.
- Current and active state licensure as a Physical Therapist in Texas.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage with patients and families.
- Proficiency in utilizing EMR and documentation systems.
- Deep understanding of evidence-based practices and a commitment to applying modern therapeutic techniques.
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
Preferred Experience
- A minimum of 1 year of experience in geriatric therapy is preferred; however, new graduates passionate about geriatric care are also encouraged to apply.
- Experience in home care settings will be highly regarded.
Compensation and Benefits
The salary range for this position is between $100,000 and $120,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
