Active Therapy Associates is actively seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our multidisciplinary team in Atlanta, Georgia. Work Environment
This position is based onsite at our well-equipped hospital facility in Atlanta. Our clinic boasts state-of-the-art rehabilitation technologies and treatment areas designed to facilitate effective therapy sessions. The collaborative work environment allows for active participation in a multidisciplinary team, including Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and Speech-Language Pathologists, ensuring coordinated and holistic patient care. Our regular hours are Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, though some flexibility may be required to accommodate patient needs and clinic operations.
Key Responsibilities
As a Physical Therapist Assistant at Active Therapy Associates, you will:
- Assist licensed physical therapists in executing tailored treatment plans that focus on improving patients' mobility, strength, and overall functionality.
- Guide patients through a variety of therapeutic exercises, stretches, and activities designed to promote physical wellness and alleviate pain.
- Provide education to patients about proper body mechanics and exercise techniques, along with home exercise programs to enhance recovery.
- Administer therapeutic modalities, including electrical stimulation, ultrasound, and heat/cold treatments, under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist.
- Monitor and document patients' progress, tracking key indicators such as range of motion and strength improvements.
- Maintain an organized treatment area, ensuring all equipment and supplies are available and prepared for patient sessions.
- Collaborate effectively with the healthcare team to coordinate care and optimize patient outcomes.
- Provide emotional support and encouragement to patients throughout their rehabilitation processes, creating a motivating environment.
- Adhere to all ethical and professional standards, maintaining patient confidentiality and respecting their privacy.
Patient Population / Client Focus
Our diverse patient population includes individuals of all ages, from children requiring pediatric rehabilitation to seniors engaged in geriatric therapy. Patients may be recovering from orthopedic injuries, neurological conditions, or post-surgical procedures, requiring tailored rehabilitation approaches. Your ability to adapt treatment methods to various demographics will be vital in achieving successful patient outcomes.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate for the Physical Therapist Assistant role will possess:
- An Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
- A valid state license or certification as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
- A strong foundation in anatomy, physiology, and therapeutic interventions relevant to physical therapy.
- Excellent skills in implementing therapeutic exercises and modalities.

Compensation and Benefits
