Key Responsibilities
As a Full-Time Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant, your key responsibilities will include:
- Assisting the registered Physical Therapist in executing treatment plans by performing a variety of therapeutic procedures.
- Administering pain-relief and mobility-enhancing techniques such as therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, and modalities like ultrasound or electrical stimulation.
- Monitoring patients' progress by observing, recording, and reporting on conditions, reactions, and responses related to their assigned duties.
- Documenting treatment sessions in our electronic health record (EHR) system to maintain accurate and timely patient records.
- Interacting effectively with patients to explain procedures, offer encouragement, and motivate them through their rehabilitation programs.
Patient Population / Client Focus
Our primary focus at Consonus Physical Therapy is on adult patients with orthopedic conditions and chronic pain issues. You will encounter a diverse range of clinical presentations, allowing for rich learning experiences in therapeutic practices. Your role will be critical in assisting patients with pre- and post-surgical rehabilitation, helping them achieve optimal recovery milestones while enhancing their quality of life.
Qualifications
To be considered for this position, candidates must possess the following qualifications:
- A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program.
- A current and unrestricted Physical Therapy Assistant license in Virginia or the ability to apply for licensure.
- Proficient communication skills that facilitate effective patient interactions and teamwork.
Preferred Experience
Prior experience working in a hospital setting or similar rehabilitation environment is strongly preferred. Candidates with at least two years of experience will be well positioned to meet our patients' expectations and engage proactively in their care.
Compensation and Benefits
