Resurge Rehab & Therapy is seeking a dedicated and passionate Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our team in Sterling, Virginia. Work Environment
The PTA will work onsite in a well-equipped hospital setting that fosters a supportive and positive atmosphere. Our clinic is designed to ensure optimal patient flow and experiential learning. The team operates Monday to Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM, providing a structured schedule that promotes work-life balance and encourages continuous professional development.
Key Responsibilities
As a Physical Therapist Assistant at Resurge Rehab & Therapy, your role will include:
- Delivering prescribed physical therapy treatments under the supervision of licensed physical therapists, adhering to individualized treatment plans.
- Assisting patients with therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques, and functional activities while utilizing various modalities appropriate for their conditions.
- Monitoring patient progress, recording responses, and providing detailed feedback to the supervising PT to ensure effective treatment adjustments.
- Educating patients on their home exercise programs, proper posture, and effective movement habits to encourage independence and long-term recovery.
- Maintaining accurate documentation that complies with clinic protocols, patient records, and legal requirements in a timely manner.
- Creating a welcoming environment that emphasizes patient-centered care, building strong therapeutic rapport with each patient.
Patient Population / Client Focus
The PTA will work primarily with orthopedic patients who have suffered injuries, undergone surgeries, or are managing chronic pain conditions. You will provide compassionate care to individuals of various age groups, helping them to regain functional mobility and improve their quality of life. Your ability to connect with patients emotionally, as well as physically, will be essential for fostering their trust and adherence to therapy.
Qualifications
- Having a Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field is mandatory, alongside an active Virginia PTA license (or eligibility to obtain one).
- At least two years of experience working in rehabilitation settings is required, with particular emphasis on outpatient therapy as a preferred skill set.
- Current CPR/BLS certification to ensure patient safety and compliance with healthcare standards.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, vital for collaborating with fellow healthcare providers and engaging effectively with clients.

Preferred Experience

Compensation and Benefits
We offer a competitive salary ranging from $60,000 to $75,000 annually, complemented by a variety of benefits, including:
