Work Environment
This full-time position is onsite at our South Burlington facility, where you will work alongside a multidisciplinary team including physicians, occupational therapists, and speech-language pathologists. Key Responsibilities
As a Physical Therapist at Active Life Therapists, your key responsibilities will include:
- Conducting thorough evaluations of patients' physical capabilities and designing individualized treatment programs that align with physicians' orders and the patients' personal goals.
- Implementing and progressing therapeutic interventions that may include exercises, manual therapy techniques, modalities, and patient education.
- Maintaining accurate and timely documentation of patient evaluations, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries to promote effective communication and care continuity.
- Assuming a supervisory role over Physical Therapist Assistants (PTAs) and support staff, ensuring they provide safe and effective patient care while fostering an environment conducive to learning and development.
- Using evidence-based practices to assess the efficacy of interventions and making necessary adjustments to treatment plans as required.
- Collaborating with a diverse team of healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive treatment, participate in care coordination, and improve overall patient outcomes.
- Engaging in continuous education and professional development to stay current with industry standards and practices, promoting a learning culture.
Patient Population / Client Focus
The patient population you will work with includes individuals recovering from various conditions, including orthopedic surgery, sports injuries, neurological disorders, and chronic pain. Your role will focus on crafting individualized treatment plans to help patients regain their mobility, strength, and functional independence.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
- A Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution.
- Current licensure as a Physical Therapist in the state of Vermont.
- Proficiency in both written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with patients and interdisciplinary teams.
- Competence in using electronic medical records and other technology for documentation and patient management.
Preferred Experience
While one year of experience in a physical therapy setting is required, preference will be given to candidates with additional experience in outpatient rehabilitation, knowledge of specific therapeutic modalities, and familiarity with evidence-based practice protocols.
