We are seeking a dedicated Full-Time Physical Therapist to join our team at Small Steps Big Leaps Rehab Center in Negaunee, Michigan. In this role, you will have the opportunity to provide exceptional patient care in an outpatient setting, focusing on creating personalized treatment plans that foster recovery and promote overall well-being. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough assessments of patients' physical conditions and histories to formulate individualized treatment plans.
- Utilize a combination of manual therapy techniques and therapeutic exercises, focusing on promoting functional recovery and enhancing mobility.
- Educate patients on self-management strategies, empowering them to take an active role in their rehabilitation journey.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, occupational therapists, and nursing staff, to ensure an integrated approach to patient care.
- Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient progress and treatment outcomes in our EMR system.
Patient Population / Client Focus
Your role will encompass a diverse patient population ranging from pediatric to geriatric individuals dealing with various conditions, including musculoskeletal injuries, post-operative recovery, and chronic pain management. Each patient presents unique challenges, providing you with the opportunity to apply your skills creatively and compassionately.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy is required; a Master's or Doctorate degree is preferred.
- A valid Michigan Physical Therapy license is essential to practice in our facility.
- While at least two years of relevant experience is preferred, we welcome new graduates who possess a passion for manual therapy and rehabilitation techniques.
- Experience with EMR systems is a plus, particularly familiarity with WebPT.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills are critical for success in this role.
Preferred Experience
Preferred candidates will have practical knowledge of manual therapy techniques including myofascial release, joint mobilization, and therapeutic ultrasound. Familiarity with outpatient care settings is advantageous, enabling you to navigate patient interactions and treatment procedures smoothly.
