Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Physical Therapist in implementing and modifying individualized treatment plans based on patient's progress, focusing on enhancing mobility, strength, and functionality.
- Guide patients through a variety of therapeutic exercises, stretches, and rehab activities, ensuring adherence to the designed therapy protocols to promote pain relief and physical well-being.
- Educate patients and their families on proper body mechanics, exercise techniques, and self-management strategies to support their rehabilitation at home.
- Administer therapeutic modalities such as electrical stimulation, ultrasound, and heat/cold therapy, under the supervision of the Physical Therapist.
- Monitor and document patient progress meticulously, noting changes in range of motion, strength, and functional abilities, while adjusting treatment as necessary.
- Set up treatment areas and ensure that all equipment and supplies are organized and accessible for each therapy session.
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team—including Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and Speech-Language Pathologists—to coordinate holistic patient care.
- Provide emotional support and encouragement to patients, helping create a motivating and uplifting environment throughout their rehabilitation process.
- Adhere to ethical guidelines and professional standards set forth by our organization and regulatory bodies.
Patient Population / Client Focus
Our clientele ranges from pediatric patients recovering from sports injuries to elderly individuals undergoing rehabilitation after hip surgery. Each patient presents unique challenges and opportunities for fulfilling therapeutic care tailored to their background, age, and specific rehabilitation needs. As a PTA, you will be instrumental in enhancing their recovery process, accentuating the importance of a patient-centered approach in our treatment methodologies.
Qualifications
- Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
- A valid state license or certification as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
- Strong foundational knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and therapeutic interventions pertinent to physical therapy.
- Experience in implementing therapeutic exercises and treatment modalities as directed by a supervising Physical Therapist.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills that allow for effective patient interactions and teamwork within the healthcare setting.
- A compassionate and patient-focused orientation, with a strong desire to promote patient recovery and rehabilitation.

Preferred Experience
- Prior experience working in a hospital or clinical setting as a Physical Therapist Assistant is a significant advantage.

Compensation and Benefits
