Work Environment
This position is located in a hospital setting where you will work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team that includes Occupational Therapists, Speech-Language Pathologists, and Nursing staff. The environment fosters a culture of teamwork and communication, ensuring that all patient care efforts are coordinated effectively. We operate Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, with occasional flexibility required to meet patient needs and clinic operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist licensed Physical Therapists in implementing individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient's needs, focusing on enhancing mobility, strength, and functional abilities.
- Guide and instruct patients through therapeutic exercises and stretching routines designed to alleviate pain, promote recovery, and foster physical independence.
- Administer therapeutic modalities such as electrical stimulation, ultrasound therapy, and heat/cold applications as directed by the supervising Physical Therapist.
- Educate patients and their families on exercise techniques, proper body mechanics, and home exercise programs, ensuring they are equipped to continue their recovery at home.
- Monitor and document patient progress meticulously, tracking improvements in strength, range of motion, and overall physical function, which is vital for assessing the efficacy of treatment plans.
- Prepare and maintain treatment areas, ensuring that all equipment and supplies are organized and accessible for daily therapy sessions.
- Engage in effective communication with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to discuss patient care plans and facilitate optimal therapeutic outcomes.
- Provide emotional support and encouragement to patients throughout their rehabilitation process, helping to create a positive and motivating therapeutic environment.
- Adhere to best practices and ethical standards in all aspects of patient care, including maintaining confidentiality and respecting patient rights.

Qualifications
- Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
- Active and valid state licensure or certification as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
- Fundamental understanding of anatomy, physiology, and therapeutic interventions relevant to physical therapy practices.
- Ability to implement therapeutic exercises and modalities under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist effectively.
- Strong communication skills and interpersonal abilities to connect with patients and collaborate with healthcare professionals.

Compensation and Benefits
