Work Environment
This position is based onsite within a hospital setting, providing a collaborative atmosphere where interdisciplinary teams come together to optimize patient care. The PTA will work primarily from Monday to Friday between the hours of 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM, with occasional flexibility needed to accommodate individual patient needs or clinic operations. Key Responsibilities
- Assist licensed Physical Therapists in executing individualized treatment plans, emphasizing improvements in patient mobility, strength, and functionality.
- Guide patients through therapeutic exercises, stretches, and activities to enhance their physical well-being and promote pain relief.
- Educate patients about body mechanics, exercise techniques, and home programs to encourage participation in their recovery processes.
- Administer therapeutic modalities such as electrical stimulation, ultrasound, and heat/cold therapy under the supervision of a Physical Therapist.
- Monitor and document patient progress, including tracking gains in range of motion, strength, and overall functional improvements.
- Prepare treatment areas, ensuring that necessary equipment and supplies are organized for therapy sessions.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members, including Occupational and Speech-Language Therapists, to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
- Provide emotional support and motivation to patients throughout their rehabilitation journey, fostering a positive treatment environment.
- Uphold ethical standards and maintain patient confidentiality, ensuring a respectful and secure space for all clients.
Patient Population / Client Focus
This position serves a diverse patient population, including individuals recovering from surgery, managing chronic conditions, and those rehabilitating from sports-related injuries. The PTA will engage with patients of varying ages and backgrounds, which requires adaptability and sensitivity to different rehabilitation needs and goals. Qualifications
- An associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program is required.
- A valid state license or certification as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
- Strong understanding of human anatomy, physiology, and therapeutic interventions specific to physical therapy.
- Proficiency in implementing therapeutic exercises and modalities under the guidance of licensed therapists.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with patients and collaborate with healthcare professionals.

Preferred Experience

Compensation and Benefits
