Work Environment
The position is centered in a vibrant hospital setting in Winslow, Arizona, where you will collaborate with an enthusiastic team of healthcare professionals. As a PTA at Mercy Physical Therapy, you will primarily interact with patients within the hospital's rehabilitative care department. Our work hours are set from Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with the occasional requirement to shift schedules for patient needs and clinic operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Physical Therapist to administer individualized treatment plans for patients, aiming specifically at enhancing their mobility, strength, and functionality.
- Engage with patients directly, guiding them through therapeutic exercises, stretches, and activities designed to alleviate pain and promote recovery.
- Educate patients on proper body mechanics, provide personalized exercise programs, and advise them on home activities for continuous recovery.
- Under supervision, utilize modalities such as electrical stimulation, ultrasound, and heat/cold therapy in therapeutic practices.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient progress by monitoring improvements in range of motion, strength, and functionality.
- Prepare therapeutic areas and ensure the organization of supplies and equipment, promoting an efficient and effective treatment environment.
- Work in tandem with the interdisciplinary healthcare team, which includes professionals like Occupational Therapists and Speech-Language Pathologists, to deliver coordinated and comprehensive care.
- Provide responsive emotional support to patients by fostering a positive and motivating space for their rehabilitation journeys.
- Uphold professional standards by ensuring patient confidentiality and adhering to ethical guidelines.
Patient Population / Client Focus
The patients you will serve range widely in age and physical condition, from pediatric patients requiring rehabilitation after sports injuries to geriatrics recovering from surgeries or fall-related injuries. Qualifications
- A Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy or a related field from an accredited program.
- A valid state license or certification for Physical Therapist Assistants.

- Skill in implementing therapeutic exercises and modalities under appropriate supervision.

Compensation and Benefits
