The Physical Therapist Assistant position is onsite within a state-of-the-art hospital facility located in Avondale, Arizona. Key Responsibilities
- Assist licensed Physical Therapists in developing and executing individualized treatment plans that promote rehabilitation and functional independence for patients of all ages.
- Conduct therapeutic exercises, stretching routines, and assistive activities under the supervision of the Physical Therapist, ensuring proper techniques are employed.
- Provide education to patients and their families regarding body mechanics, home exercise programs, and rehabilitation goals to encourage active participation in their recovery journey.
- Administer therapeutic modalities, including electrical stimulation, ultrasound, and heat/cold therapies, while adhering to safety and clinical protocols.
- Document patient progress meticulously, tracking changes in mobility, strength, and overall functional capabilities as directed by the supervising therapist.
- Organize and maintain treatment areas, ensuring that all therapeutic equipment and supplies are readily accessible and in optimal condition for sessions.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and Speech-Language Pathologists, to ensure cohesive patient care delivery.
- Provide encouragement and emotional support to patients during their rehabilitation, fostering a motivating and positive atmosphere.
- Uphold ethical standards and patient confidentiality in all aspects of care.
Patient Population / Client Focus
Your role will encompass working with a diverse range of patients, from pediatric to geriatric populations, including athletes recovering from sports injuries, post-surgical patients needing rehabilitation, and individuals working to manage chronic conditions. You'll tailor treatment approaches to meet unique patient needs, ensuring that each individual receives the most effective care possible.
Qualifications
- An Associate's degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
- A valid state license or certification to practice as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
- Comprehensive knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and physical therapy techniques.
- Skills in implementing therapeutic interventions and patient education strategies.
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication abilities for effective patient and team interactions.
- A compassionate approach to patient care, demonstrating a commitment to supporting patients in achieving their rehabilitation objectives.

Compensation and Benefits
