Work Environment
Our outpatient office located in McMinnville, Oregon, is designed with state-of-the-art therapy rooms and equipment to ensure the highest level of care for our residents. Here, you will work alongside a team of licensed Physical Therapists in a vibrant, team-oriented atmosphere that promotes interdisciplinary collaboration and shared learning. Our work setting validates a commitment to a healthy work-life balance, with a schedule of Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement individualized treatment plans developed by the supervising Physical Therapist that focus on enhancing mobility, strength, balance, and functional independence for each resident.
- Continuously monitor and document resident progress, adjusting treatment strategies as necessary, and effectively communicate results with the supervising PT.
- Create and maintain a positive therapeutic environment by providing compassionate and encouraging care during all therapy sessions.
- Educate residents and their families on mobility techniques, safety measures, and exercises designed to promote independence and well-being.
- Accurately document all therapy sessions following state regulations and Medicare guidelines, ensuring compliance and continuity of care.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary care team, which may include occupational therapists, nursing staff, and social workers, to ensure comprehensive care for every resident.
Patient Population / Client Focus
This role specifically focuses on providing care to seniors in an assisted living setting, where you will work closely with residents experiencing a variety of physical challenges. You will address age-related impairments, post-surgical rehabilitation, and chronic conditions that affect their daily living. Your expertise will help empower these individuals to regain functional abilities, leading to improved quality of life.
Qualifications
- A graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program, ideally holding a Bachelor's Degree.
- An active Oregon PTA license or eligibility to obtain one.
- Current CPR/BLS certification or willingness to obtain prior to starting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, essential for working collaboratively with seniors and their families.
- A commitment to providing patient-centered care with a team-focused mindset.
Preferred Experience
- At least two years of experience as a PTA, preferably in geriatrics, assisted living, or skilled nursing facilities, enhancing your ability to meet the unique needs of our residents.
- A background in working with various treatment modalities and rehabilitation techniques applicable to senior care.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary range of $60,000 to $75,000, commensurate with experience and performance, with potential for negotiation based on qualifications.
