Tranquil Pines Assisted Living is seeking a dedicated and passionate Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our dynamic care team in Hillsboro, Oregon. This full-time position offers an opportunity to play a critical role in helping patients recover from injuries and regain their independence. The ideal candidate will bring at least two years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree in a related field.

Work Environment
The successful PTA will work onsite in our home care setting Monday through Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM. The work environment is designed to be collaborative and supportive, with direct access to licensed Physical Therapists and other health professionals. You will be utilizing various therapeutic equipment and methods tailored to each patient's needs, making it essential to stay updated with the latest rehabilitation techniques.
Key Responsibilities
As a Physical Therapist Assistant at Tranquil Pines, your specific duties will include:
- Implementing and carrying out treatment plans as designed by licensed Physical Therapists.
- Leading patients through a variety of therapeutic exercises including stretching, strength training, balance, and mobility enhancement.
- Carefully monitoring and documenting patient progress, including any changes in their condition or response to treatment, and relaying this information to supervising PTs.
- Providing direct support and encouragement to clients during their rehabilitation exercises, ensuring modification of techniques as necessary for optimal success.
- Assisting in the preparation and maintenance of therapy spaces, ensuring all tools and equipment are sanitized and ready for use.
- Supporting the overall operations of the clinic with professionalism, reliability, and attention to detail, fostering an environment of trust and respect.
Patient Population / Client Focus
Our primary focus is on individuals needing orthopedic rehabilitation, including those recovering from surgeries, sports injuries, or chronic pain conditions. You will work with a diverse patient population, each with unique needs and recovery goals, requiring compassion, creativity, and effective communication skills to guide them through their rehabilitation journeys.
Qualifications
The successful candidate must meet the following qualifications:
- Current Oregon PTA license or the eligibility to obtain one.
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with both patients and team members.
- Excellent clinical judgment to observe and react to patients' needs during their therapy sessions.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while staying attentive to patient safety and care.
- A proactive, positive attitude toward patient recovery, demonstrating empathy and enthusiasm.
- Strong commitment to working collaboratively in a team-focused environment, valuing the contributions of all colleagues in the pursuit of excellent patient outcomes.
Preferred Experience
While not essential, the following experiences are highly regarded:
- Two years of experience in an orthopedic outpatient or sports rehabilitation setting.
- Familiarity with electronic medical record systems and documentation practices related to physical therapy.
- Capable of providing mentorship to less experienced team members.
Compensation and Benefits
We offer a competitive salary range of $75,000 to $85,000 per year, commensurate with experience. In addition, our benefits package includes:
