Work Environment
Located in Roanoke, Virginia, our facility offers a collaborative and motivating atmosphere where healthcare professionals work as a cohesive team. The PTA role is onsite in a hospital environment, allowing for direct patient interaction and immediate feedback, fostering professional growth in a hands-on care setting. Your schedule will typically be Monday to Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional flexibility to meet the needs of our patients and operational demands.
Key Responsibilities
As a Physical Therapist Assistant, you will engage in various responsibilities that are critical to patient care:
- Assist the overseeing Physical Therapist in the execution of individualized treatment plans, ensuring adherence to prescribed therapeutic techniques.
- Conduct routine therapeutic procedures such as ultrasound therapy, electrotherapy, manual therapy, and teaching exercise regimens that align with each patient's rehabilitation goals.
- Monitor patients during treatment sessions to observe their progress, reactions, and any changes in their condition, maintaining accurate records of these observations.
- Communicate effectively with the supervising therapist regarding patient status, including any pertinent issues that arise during therapy sessions that may require adjustments to treatment plans.
- Maintain organized and comprehensive documentation of patient care and treatment outcomes as per legal and regulatory standards, contributing to the overall quality assurance process.
Patient Population / Client Focus
Your patient focus will primarily involve adults experiencing orthopedic challenges, including joint replacements, sports injuries, and chronic pain. You will be instrumental in guiding patients through personalized rehabilitation programs aimed at restoring mobility and alleviating discomfort, allowing them to regain their independence and improve their overall physical health.
Qualifications
To qualify for the PTA position at Consonus Physical Therapy, you should possess the following:
- A bachelor's degree from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program, ensuring a solid foundation in the principles of rehabilitation and patient care.
- A current, unrestricted state Physical Therapy Assistant license, or the willingness to apply for one if relocating.
- Outstanding communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and convey treatment plans to patients in an understandable manner.
Preferred Experience
While a minimum of two years of experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant is required, candidates with a background in adult orthopedic rehabilitation or chronic pain management will be highly regarded. Compensation and Benefits
