Work Environment
This position is primarily onsite at our hospital facility, allowing for immediate collaboration with other healthcare providers, including physicians and nursing staff. You will be part of an interdisciplinary team dedicated to patient recovery, which creates a dynamic and supportive workplace culture. The work hours are from Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM, emphasizing our commitment to a balanced work-life environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist Physical Therapists in implementing customized treatment plans designed for each patient's unique needs.
- Provide direct patient care through hands-on therapy techniques, which include therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, and mobility training.
- Instruct patients in proper exercise techniques, ensuring safe usage of rehabilitation equipment.
- Monitor and document patients' progress, actively communicating updates and concerns to the supervising Physical Therapist.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation within our electronic health record (EHR) system, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
- Ensure patients feel safe and comfortable during therapy sessions, advocating for their emotional and physical well-being.
- Collaborate with the clinical team to achieve optimal patient outcomes through effective treatment strategies.
- Educate patients and their families about home exercise programs and recovery strategies to facilitate ongoing health improvement.
Patient Population / Client Focus
Our facility caters to diverse patient needs, including those recovering from orthopedic injuries, post-surgical rehabilitation, and various musculoskeletal conditions. As a PTA, you will play a crucial role in helping these individuals regain their strength and mobility. Your ability to connect with patients and provide empathetic support will be key to their recovery journey.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
- Active Physical Therapist Assistant license in Nevada is required.
- Strong foundational knowledge of therapeutic treatment techniques and rehabilitation protocols.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective team collaboration and patient engagement.
Preferred Experience
- 1-2 years of experience in an outpatient or rehabilitation environment is preferred but not mandatory.
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and clinical documentation practices.
- Experience collaborating within a team-based approach in a healthcare setting.
Compensation and Benefits
We offer a competitive salary ranging from $60,000 to $80,000 per annum, commensurate with experience, along with a comprehensive benefits package that includes:
