Active Therapy Associates is looking for a dedicated and passionate Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our team in Augusta, Georgia. Work Environment
This position is based onsite at our renowned hospital facility. In our collaborative work environment, you will have the resources and support necessary to thrive. The team consists of experienced Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech-Language Pathologists, and other healthcare professionals who share a common goal: to help our patients regain their functionality and improve their quality of life. Operating Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, our clinic offers structured hours while providing occasional flexibility to adjust according to patient needs and clinic operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Physical Therapists to assist in the development and implementation of tailored treatment plans focused on mobility improvement, strength enhancement, and functional recovery.
- Guide patients through prescribed therapeutic exercises, stretches, and activities that prioritize their safety while actively promoting physical well-being.
- Educate patients about proper body mechanics and effective exercise techniques, providing them with a clear understanding of home exercise programs designed to facilitate healing and recovery.
- Administer various modalities including electrical stimulation, ultrasound therapy, and heat/cold treatments under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist.
- Monitor patient progress meticulously by documenting changes in range of motion, strength, and overall functional capacity to ensure progress is tracked comprehensively.
- Prepare treatment areas efficiently, ensuring that all necessary equipment and supplies are organized and available for therapy sessions.
- Engage in effective communication with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care and optimize patient outcomes while developing a holistic approach to rehabilitation.
- Support and motivate patients throughout their rehabilitation journey, creating a positive atmosphere that fosters emotional well-being during their recovery.
- Uphold the highest standards of ethical conduct, maintaining patient confidentiality and respecting the rights and privacy of all individuals.
Patient Population / Client Focus
As a Physical Therapist Assistant at Active Therapy Associates, you will support a diverse patient population, including individuals recovering from orthopedic surgeries, neurological conditions, sports injuries, and age-related impairments. You will have the unique opportunity to work with children in pediatric rehabilitation as well as older adults requiring geriatric care. Qualifications
- Completion of an Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
- A valid state license or certification as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
- Strong foundational knowledge in anatomy, physiology, and therapeutic techniques relevant to physical therapy.
- Proficiency in implementing therapeutic modalities and exercises effectively under the guidance of a supervising Physical Therapist.
- Exemplary communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop rapport with patients and collaborate closely with team members.

Compensation and Benefits
