Key Responsibilities
- Assist licensed Physical Therapists in the implementation of individualized treatment plans to support patients recovering from various conditions and surgeries.
- Conduct patient intake, including assessments of mobility, strength, and flexibility using state-of-the-art equipment and assessment tools.
- Administer therapeutic exercises, modalities, and assistive devices, ensuring proper use and understanding among the patients.
- Communicate regularly with the therapy team, patients, and caregivers, updating them on progress and any necessary adjustments in care.
- Document patient progress and treatment information using electronic health record systems, such as Net Health and Casamba, maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Encourage patient motivation and adherence to treatment protocols through education and support.
Patient Population / Client Focus
Our clinic primarily serves a diverse population of patients, including those in skilled nursing facilities, outpatient rehabilitation, and post-operative care. A strong passion for working with the elderly, as well as individuals recovering from trauma, surgeries, or chronic conditions, is essential. This role involves building rapport with patients to understand their goals and actively engage them in their recovery process, ultimately leading to improved health outcomes.
Qualifications
- Completion of a Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy or related field.
- Active Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license in good standing, with the ability to practice unencumbered by state and federal regulations.
- A genuine passion for physical therapy, particularly in assisting elderly patients.
Preferred Experience
- Experience working in a skilled nursing facility or similar rehabilitation environment is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with electronic healthcare record systems and documentation processes.
- Prior experience providing mentorship or support to new graduates is a plus.
