Gotham Enterprises Ltd is actively seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our esteemed rehabilitation center located in Phoenix, Arizona. In this full-time role, you will play an integral part in delivering exceptional care to our patients by assisting licensed Physical Therapists in implementing effective treatment plans tailored to individual needs. Work Environment
The physical therapist assistant will work in a bustling hospital setting in Phoenix, Arizona. This site is designed to facilitate an efficient workflow with state-of-the-art treatment areas and equipment. You will engage daily with a multidisciplinary team, including physical therapists, occupational therapists, and speech-language pathologists, to optimize patient outcomes. The regular working hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with some flexibility to accommodate patient schedules and clinic operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist licensed Physical Therapists in developing and implementing customized treatment plans aimed at improving patient mobility, strength, and overall functionality.
- Guide patients through therapy exercises, stretches, and rehabilitation activities, ensuring proper form and technique to enhance effectiveness and minimize injury risk.
- Educate patients and their families on exercise techniques, body mechanics, and at-home rehabilitation strategies to promote successful recovery.
- Administer therapeutic modalities, including electrical stimulation, ultrasound, and heat/cold therapy, closely supervised by the Physical Therapist.
- Accurately monitor and document patient progress, such as tracking improvements in range of motion and strength, while adjusting treatment plans as necessary.
- Prepare treatment areas, ensuring that all equipment and supplies are organized and readily available for therapy sessions to maintain an efficient workflow.
- Collaborate effectively with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care strategies and discuss updates or changes in patient conditions.
- Provide emotional support and encouragement to patients, helping to create a positive environment that fosters motivation throughout their rehabilitation journey.
- Adhere strictly to professional standards, including patient confidentiality and ethical guidelines, ensuring the highest level of care and respect for patient rights.
Patient Population / Client Focus
You will have the opportunity to work with a diverse patient population, including those recovering from surgery, sports injuries, chronic pain, and age-related ailments. Each patient presents unique challenges, and your adaptive approach will be crucial in helping them regain independence and enhance their quality of life.
Qualifications
- A valid state license or certification as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
- A Bachelor's Degree in a related field, alongside training from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
- Strong foundational knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and physical therapy modalities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, allowing you to build rapport with patients and collaborate effectively with healthcare professionals.
- A compassionate, patient-centered approach with a genuine desire to assist patients in achieving their rehabilitation objectives.
- Proficient in executing therapeutic exercises and modalities under the supervision of a Physical Therapist.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in a hospital or clinical rehabilitation setting is highly desirable, especially with diverse patient demographics.
- A background in orthopedic or neurological rehabilitation is considered a plus.
- Experience in collaborating within a multidisciplinary team environment will strengthen your effectiveness in this role.
Compensation and Benefits
