Work Environment

The Physical Therapist Assistant position is located onsite at our modern hospital facility in Sacramento. Our rehabilitation department is equipped with the latest therapeutic technologies and equipment, ensuring that all necessary resources are available to support our patients' rehabilitation journeys. The work setting is dynamic, with a structured schedule of Monday to Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Flexibility may be needed occasionally to accommodate patient needs and ensure effective clinic operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist licensed Physical Therapists in the execution of individualized treatment plans for patients, focusing on enhancing mobility, strength, and functional capabilities.
• Guide patients through personalized therapeutic exercises, instructional activities, and modalities such as electrical stimulation, ultrasound, and heat/cold therapy under appropriate supervision.
• Educate patients regarding body mechanics, proper exercise techniques, and individualized home exercise programs to empower them in their recovery process.
• Track and document patient progress meticulously, keeping records of range of motion, strength improvements, and other key metrics to communicate with the healthcare team effectively.
• Prepare and maintain treatment areas by ensuring that all equipment and supplies are readily organized and available for therapy sessions, demonstrating attention to detail and readiness.
• The role involves active collaboration with an interdisciplinary team, which includes Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and Speech-Language Pathologists to optimize patient care outcomes.
• Provide not just physical support, but emotional encouragement to patients, creating a positive and motivating environment crucial for rehabilitation.
• Uphold the highest ethical standards in all aspects of care, ensuring patient confidentiality, dignity, and respect at all times.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The diverse patient cohort at Access Health Care Solutions encompasses a wide range of age groups and backgrounds, including elderly patients undergoing post-operative recovery, children needing pediatric rehabilitation, athletes recovering from sports injuries, and individuals addressing chronic physical conditions. Your role as a PTA will involve tailoring your therapeutic approach to address the specific needs and goals of each patient, thus directly influencing their rehabilitation outcomes.

Qualifications

• An Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program is required.
• A valid state license or certification as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
• In-depth knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and therapeutic interventions related to physical therapy.
• Proficiency in executing therapeutic exercises and modalities under the guidance of a Physical Therapist.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are necessary to build rapport with patients and work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
• A patient-centered approach to care that showcases compassion and a genuine desire to support patients in achieving their rehabilitation goals.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, capable of adapting treatment plans to meet individual patient needs effectively.

• Experience working in a hospital or rehabilitation setting is highly desired.

Compensation and Benefits
