In this full-time position, you will play a crucial role in the recovery and well-being of our geriatric patients, aged 65 and above, by helping them restore their mobility, promoting safety, and enhancing their overall quality of life.

Work Environment
You will work onsite at our rehabilitation facility, which features modern amenities and a supportive atmosphere that encourages collaboration among healthcare professionals. The facility is equipped with the latest technology and resources to assist in patient rehabilitation, allowing therapists to provide effective, evidence-based treatment plans tailored to individual needs. The typical schedule consists of eight-hour shifts from Monday to Friday, fostering a balanced work-life environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough assessments to identify and address patients' mobility goals and needs.
- Develop and implement personalized treatment plans using a variety of evidence-based modalities to improve patient function and mobility.
- Utilize innovative rehabilitation techniques to effectively reduce dependence on medications and provide alternatives to surgical interventions.
- Create and oversee fitness and wellness programs that enhance physical fitness, strength, flexibility, balance, and coordination specific to each patient.
- Motivate patients through encouragement and hands-on support during therapy sessions, ensuring they achieve optimal outcomes.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including occupational therapists, physicians, and nursing staff, to deliver holistic patient care.
- Regularly monitor and document patient progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary.
- Maintain accurate medical records in compliance with facility policies and regulatory guidelines.
Patient Population / Client Focus
Your primary focus will be the geriatric population, particularly individuals recovering from surgery, injuries, or chronic conditions. You'll employ empathetic and compassionate care, understanding the unique challenges faced by aging patients and their families. Your work will directly contribute to enhancing patients' independence and overall quality of life.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
- Current and valid state license to practice physical therapy.
- Proficient understanding of physical therapy techniques and patient motivational strategies.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
- Demonstrated ability to manage various personality types and adapt care plans accordingly.
Preferred Experience
- Experience working with a geriatric population is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with electronic medical record systems (EMR) to document patient care efficiently.
- Continued professional development through workshops, seminars, or certification in geriatrics or related fields.
Compensation and Benefits
