Gotham Enterprises Ltd is seeking a dedicated and skilled Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our team at our onsite rehabilitation facility in Springfield, Illinois. In this full-time role, you will collaborate closely with licensed Physical Therapists to implement individualized patient care plans designed to improve mobility, strength, and overall functional abilities. Work Environment
Located within a well-equipped hospital environment, our rehabilitation center provides a supportive and collaborative atmosphere for both staff and patients. Our team consists of experienced Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and Speech-Language Pathologists, creating an interdisciplinary approach to rehabilitation. Employees will work Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with some flexibility required based on patient needs and operational demands.
Key Responsibilities
As a Physical Therapist Assistant, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Assisting Physical Therapists in administering therapeutic exercises tailored to patients' recovery plans, focusing on enhancing their mobility and functionality.
- Guiding patients through therapeutic activities and providing instruction on stretches and exercises that promote pain relief and physical well-being.
- Educating patients on proper body mechanics and techniques to perform exercises safely at home, ensuring continuity of care.
- Utilizing therapeutic modalities such as electrical stimulation, ultrasound, and heat/cold therapies under the supervision of the Physical Therapist.
- Documenting patient progress meticulously, including range of motion, strength improvements, and functional advancements.
- Preparing treatment areas by organizing equipment and supplies, ensuring they are maintained to support high-quality patient care.
- Collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to coordinate care plans, share insights on patient progress, and share in therapeutic strategies.
- Providing encouragement and emotional support to patients to instill confidence and promote a positive rehabilitation experience.
- Upholding ethical and professional standards by maintaining patient confidentiality and respecting privacy rights.
Patient Population / Client Focus
Our clinic serves a diverse patient population ranging from pediatric to geriatric individuals, each with unique rehabilitation needs. The role of the PTA is pivotal in addressing conditions such as post-surgical recovery, orthopedic injuries, neurological disorders, and chronic pain syndromes. The ability to connect with patients from various backgrounds and tailor approaches to their specific conditions is essential in fostering effective rehabilitation outcomes.
Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- An Associate Degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
- A valid state license or certification as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
- A solid foundation in human anatomy, physiology, and therapeutic interventions related to physical therapy.
- Proficiency in executing therapeutic exercises and modalities as directed by a Physical Therapist.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, enabling you to build rapport with patients and collaborate efficiently with healthcare professionals.
- A compassionate, patient-centered approach, with a genuine focus on helping patients achieve their rehabilitation goals.
- Strong organizational skills and adaptability in handling diverse patient populations and conditions.

Preferred Experience
While not mandatory, experience in a clinical rehabilitation setting or prior exposure to therapeutic modalities will be highly regarded. Those who possess additional certifications related to specialized rehabilitation methods may have an advantage in the selection process.
Compensation and Benefits
The compensation for this position ranges from USD 50,000 to 65,000 annually, commensurate with experience and education. In addition, we offer:
