Work Environment
Located in Henderson, Nevada, our facility is the heartbeat of our community's health and wellness initiatives. As a Physical Therapist Assistant at our hospital, you will engage directly with patients in an environment equipped with the latest rehabilitation technology and tools. The work schedule for this position is from Monday to Friday, between 9 AM and 5 PM, allowing you to maintain a healthy work-life balance. Key Responsibilities
- Assist licensed Physical Therapists in the implementation of individualized treatment plans based on patient evaluations and clinical outcomes.
- Provide direct patient care through hands-on therapy, ensuring techniques such as therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, and mobility training are executed with precision.
- Educate and instruct patients in proper exercise techniques and the safe use of therapeutic equipment to maximize their recovery potential.
- Monitor patient progress meticulously, documenting changes and reporting findings to the supervising Physical Therapist to adapt care protocols as needed.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive documentation in electronic health records (EHR) to ensure continuity of care and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Prioritize patient safety and comfort during therapy sessions by creating a welcoming and supportive atmosphere.
- Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary clinical team to promote optimal patient outcomes through shared insights and strategies.
- Guide patients and their families on home exercise programs and provide insights into strategies for ongoing recovery and injury prevention.
Patient Population / Client Focus
Our services cater to a diverse patient population, primarily focusing on individuals recovering from orthopedic injuries, surgical procedures, and other musculoskeletal conditions. You will have the opportunity to work with patients at various stages of their recovery journey, offering hope and restoring functionality through targeted rehabilitation techniques. Qualifications
- An Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) program is required.
- Active PTA licensure in the state of Nevada is a must.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in outpatient rehabilitation or a healthcare setting is preferred, showcasing abilities in patient care and rehabilitation.
- Proficiency in therapeutic exercise techniques and understanding rehabilitation protocols is essential for success in this role.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment, adapting to varying patient needs and clinical demands.
- Experience with electronic health records (EHR) and clinical documentation practices is highly valued.
Preferred Experience
- Experience with specific patient populations, including those recovering from total joint replacements or sports-related injuries.
- Familiarity with advanced rehabilitation technologies, including aquatic therapy and neuromuscular electrical stimulation.
- Previous involvement in patient education initiatives or community health programs would be beneficial.
Compensation and Benefits
The compensation for this full-time role ranges from $60,000 to $80,000 per year, commensurate with experience and expertise. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, which includes:
