Work Environment
You will be working onsite at our hospital facility, collaborating closely with a team of compassionate physical therapists, occupational therapists, and healthcare staff dedicated to patient care. Our normal business hours, Monday through Friday, allow for a balanced work-life integration.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the physical therapist in implementing treatment plans designed to help patients improve their functionality and mobility.
- Conduct therapeutic exercises and activities with patients, ensuring they understand the purpose and methods used for their rehabilitation.
- Document patient progress accurately in medical records, detailing effectiveness and any changes in treatment plans as necessary.
- Assess patients' needs, tailoring interventions to individual differences while exhibiting compassion and empathy throughout the treatment process.
- Collaborate with the physical therapist to recommend modifications to treatment plans based on the patient's progress and feedback.
- Engage in ongoing education regarding the latest research and best practices in physical therapy to ensure the highest standard of care.
- Participate in team meetings and discussions to review patient statuses and suggest adjustments in therapeutic approaches.
- Maintain ethical and legal compliance in all patient interactions and documentation processes.
- Ensure compliance with facility protocols and contribute to the development of a rehabilitation program that effectively meets patient needs.
Patient Population / Client Focus
In this role, you will work primarily with patients recovering from surgery, injuries, and various chronic conditions that limit mobility. Our patient population is diverse, featuring individuals across all age groups. You will provide care tailored to each patient's unique medical history, physical capacity, and personal rehabilitation goals, ensuring a holistic approach to their recovery process.
Qualifications
- Active State licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) or relevant certification.
- Education: Associate's Degree in Physical Therapy or a Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
- Strong understanding of human anatomy, physiology, and therapeutic practices.
- Excellent communication skills, with a focus on instructing patients and collaborative teamwork.
- Ability to exhibit empathy, patience, and compassion while working with patients from diverse backgrounds.
Preferred Experience
- A minimum of 1-2 years of experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant in a hospital or clinical setting.
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) and documentation practices.
- Experience in rehabilitation specialties such as orthopedics, geriatrics, or sports medicine is advantageous.
Compensation and Benefits
This position offers a competitive annual salary ranging from USD 50,000 to 60,000, commensurate with experience.
