Work Environment
The role is based in a modern hospital setting in Naperville, Illinois, where our multidisciplinary team works closely to manage patient care. As a member of our team, you will enjoy a structured schedule from Monday to Friday, with work hours typically from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. While flexibility may be necessary to accommodate individual patient needs, our focus remains on delivering high-quality care in a supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver direct physical therapy services in accordance with the established plan of care, under the supervision and guidance of a licensed physical therapist.
- Assist patients in therapeutic exercises, including active and passive movements, muscle reeducation, gait training, and functional activities, to help relieve pain and restore function.
- Utilize a variety of physical agents such as heat, cold, ultrasound, and massage to enhance treatment effectiveness and patient comfort.
- Educate patients on the use of assistive devices, including wheelchairs, crutches, canes, and orthotic/prosthetic equipment, ensuring they gain independence in their recovery journey.
- Maintain thorough and accurate clinical documentation and records that detail patient progress, treatment methods, and communication with team members.
- Participate actively in collaborative interdisciplinary team meetings and contribute to quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives.
- Engage in ongoing professional development through in-service training and educational programs provided by the organization.
- Carry out additional tasks as required to ensure optimal patient care and operational efficiency.
Patient Population / Client Focus
The primary focus of our services is on a diverse patient population ranging from post-operative rehabilitation to chronic condition management. You will work with individuals of various ages and backgrounds, tailoring your therapeutic approach to meet the unique needs of each patient. Your contributions will directly impact their recovery speed, pain management, and quality of life.
Qualifications
- Holder of an Associate's Degree in physical therapy assistant from an accredited program recognized by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA).
- Current and valid state licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant, with the ability to demonstrate compliance with any ongoing certification requirements.
- CPR certification must be current and maintained during employment.
- A valid driver's license and a reliable vehicle that is insured in accordance with state regulations, ensuring the ability to travel as needed.
Preferred Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant clinical experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant, preferably in an acute care or hospital environment.
- Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems and familiarity with documentation requirements in a clinical setting.
Compensation and Benefits
