Work Environment
This full-time position requires you to work onsite within a hospital setting. You will collaborate with licensed Physical Therapists, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals to deliver top-notch rehabilitation services. The clinic operates Monday to Friday, from 9 AM to 5 PM, providing a structured work schedule that promotes work-life balance.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist licensed Physical Therapists in implementing individualized treatment plans for patients recovering from orthopedic conditions.
- Guide patients through exercises and therapeutic activities, ensuring proper techniques are used to maximize effectiveness and minimize risk.
- Monitor patient progress closely, offering real-time feedback and adjustments to therapy as needed, and maintain detailed documentation regarding patient performance.
- Educate patients and their families about therapeutic exercises, mobility techniques, and the correct usage of rehabilitation equipment.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe treatment environment, which includes adhering to all safety protocols and guidelines.
- Provide encouragement, motivation, and education to engage patients actively in their rehabilitation process.
Patient Population / Client Focus
Your work will primarily involve patients recovering from surgeries, injuries, and chronic conditions related to orthopedic health. You'll particularly focus on those requiring rehabilitative services to regain functionality and improve their quality of life. Building rapport with patients and empowering them to achieve their personal recovery goals will be a central part of your role.
Qualifications
- A current license to practice as a Physical Therapist Assistant in the state of Oregon.
- A Bachelor's degree in a related field, demonstrating a foundational knowledge of physical therapy principles.
- At least two years of experience in orthopedic outpatient settings is strongly preferred, but motivated new graduates with robust clinical experience are encouraged to apply.
- Proficiency in therapeutic exercise techniques along with a knack for manual therapy assistance.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with patients, their families, and the multidisciplinary team.

Preferred Experience
While a minimum of two years' experience is required, candidates with a background in outpatient orthopedic therapy or sports rehabilitation will be given preference.
