Tranquil Pines Assisted Living is actively seeking a dedicated and experienced Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our dynamic interdisciplinary team in our orthopedic outpatient clinic in Portland, Oregon. Work Environment
Located in the vibrant city of Portland, Oregon, our outpatient office environment is designed to facilitate effective rehabilitation while ensuring patient comfort. The setting is equipped with state-of-the-art rehabilitation tools and technology, ensuring that both therapists and patients have access to the best resources for recovery. You will be working alongside a team of skilled professionals, including Physical Therapists and administrative staff, committed to providing a seamless patient experience. The standard work schedule is Monday to Friday, from 9 AM to 5 PM, providing an ideal work-life balance.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and carry out individualized treatment plans developed by licensed Physical Therapists, ensuring that therapy sessions align with patient goals.
- Guide and assist patients through therapeutic exercises, stretching regimens, balance activities, and mobility work to facilitate recovery and improve function.
- Monitor, document, and communicate patient progress and responses to treatment effectively, maintaining accurate records for review by the supervising therapists.
- Provide motivation and support to patients during their rehabilitation process, offering verbal encouragement, instructional guidance, and necessary modifications.
- Assist in preparing therapy areas by setting up equipment, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring a safe environment for patients and staff.
- Contribute actively to clinic operations, demonstrating professionalism and attention to detail in daily tasks.
Patient Population / Client Focus
As a PTA in our orthopedic outpatient clinic, you will be primarily working with patients recovering from orthopedic surgeries, sports-related injuries, and other musculoskeletal disorders. The patient demographic includes a wide range of ages and fitness levels, from athletes to elderly patients. Your role is crucial in helping clients regain strength and mobility, assisting them in transitioning back to their daily activities and improving their quality of life.
Qualifications
- Current Oregon Physical Therapist Assistant license or eligibility to obtain one.
- Strong clinical judgment, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively work with patients and team members.
- Ability to build rapport with diverse patient populations and foster a supportive therapeutic environment.
- Proficiency in using rehabilitation equipment and tools commonly utilized in outpatient therapy settings.
Preferred Experience
- A minimum of two years of experience in an orthopedic outpatient or sports rehabilitation setting is preferred.
- Familiarity with evidence-based practices for rehabilitation therapy.
- Experience in working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Prior exposure to electronic medical records (EMR) systems for documentation and patient tracking.
Compensation and Benefits
- Competitive salary range of $75,000 to $85,000 per year, reflecting experience and expertise.
