Consonus Physical Therapy is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our team at our hospital facility located in Oakland, California. Work Environment
You will be immersed in an energetic and supportive environment primarily within our hospital, enhancing your clinical skills and professional development. The department operates on a Monday to Friday schedule from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional flexibility to meet the needs of our patients and clinic operations. Key Responsibilities
Your daily responsibilities will include:
- Collaborating closely with the registered Physical Therapist to implement individualized treatment plans, ensuring adherence to clinical protocols.
- Administering therapeutic modalities such as ultrasound, electrical stimulation, and manual therapy techniques to enhance patients' recovery.
- Monitoring patient progress by observing, recording, and communicating their conditions, reactions, and responses to treatments.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation in compliance with legal and organizational standards.
- Assisting with patient education to promote compliance with treatment programs and strategies for managing pain and disabilities.
Patient Population / Client Focus
You will primarily work with adults facing orthopedic challenges and chronic pain conditions. Our patient population includes those recovering from surgical procedures, trauma, and musculoskeletal disorders. Your expertise in understanding their unique needs and providing tailored therapeutic interventions will play a significant role in their rehabilitation journey.
Qualifications
To be considered for this role, candidates must possess:
- A degree from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program.
- A current and unrestricted California Physical Therapy Assistant license or the ability to apply for one.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively liaise with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, with a genuine passion for helping others achieve their rehabilitation goals.
Preferred Experience
Ideal candidates will have at least 2 years of experience working as a Physical Therapist Assistant in a hospital or rehabilitation setting. Familiarity with electronic health record systems and a background in orthopedic care are highly desirable.
Compensation and Benefits
