Work Environment
You will work onsite within a hospital facility located in the heart of Redwood City, California. Key Responsibilities
- Implement prescribed exercise and rehabilitation programs, guiding patients through various therapeutic activities.
- Support licensed physical therapists in hands-on therapy modalities, including ultrasound, electrical stimulation, and manual therapy techniques.
- Educate patients and their families about specific treatment plans, expected outcomes, and at-home continuations to optimize recovery.
- Regularly assess patient progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary and maintaining detailed electronic medical records (EMR) using systems such as WebPT.
- Provide compassionate support and motivation to patients, fostering a positive therapeutic environment.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the therapy space and equipment.
Patient Population / Client Focus
You will primarily work with individuals recovering from orthopedic conditions, including post-operative patients, sports injuries, and chronic pain disorders. Your role will be critical in providing personalized care and ensuring that each patient feels empowered and understood throughout their rehabilitation journey.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field from an accredited institution.
- Valid Physical Therapist Assistant license in California.
- Minimum of two years of experience in an outpatient orthopedic setting, showcasing your hands-on therapy skills and adaptability.
- Strong proficiency in EMR systems, particularly WebPT, is highly desirable.
- A solid understanding of manual therapy techniques and evidence-based practices in physical therapy.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients and collaborate within a multidisciplinary health care team.
Preferred Experience
- Hands-on experience with therapeutic modalities such as ultrasound, electrical stimulation, and specialized manual therapy techniques.
- Familiarity with patient education strategies and developing at-home exercise programs.
- A background in sports rehabilitation and experience working with athletes is a plus.
Compensation and Benefits
The anticipated salary for this full-time position ranges from USD 75,000 to 85,000 annually, dependent on your experience and skills.
