Work Environment
Our Corsicana hospital facility is equipped with advanced rehabilitation technologies and a welcoming atmosphere conducive to healing. Working onsite from Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM, you will engage directly with patients and interdisciplinary teams in a structured environment designed to facilitate optimal recovery outcomes. Key Responsibilities
- Implement personalized treatment plans as outlined by licensed Physical Therapists to ensure effective rehabilitation for patients.
- Guide patients through therapeutic exercises, assistive mobility techniques, and strength training sessions, monitoring their progress and providing encouragement.
- Utilize manual therapy techniques and assist with various rehabilitative modalities, such as ultrasound and electrical stimulation, to enhance patient recovery.
- Maintain accurate records of patient progress and treatment outcomes, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and facilitating seamless communication within the healthcare team.
- Educate patients and their families about specific recovery exercises, injury prevention strategies, and effective home-based care plans.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including physicians and occupational therapists, to provide cohesive and comprehensive patient care.
- Participate in team meetings and professional development opportunities to keep pace with industry trends and best practices.
Patient Population / Client Focus
In this role, you will be working primarily with patients who are recovering from orthopedic injuries, surgeries, and chronic musculoskeletal conditions. Patient demographics may range from athletes recovering from sports injuries to elderly individuals regaining independence after surgery. Your empathetic approach and dedication to personalized care will be instrumental in helping a diverse client population achieve their rehabilitation goals.
Qualifications
- Active Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license in Texas.
- Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy or an equivalent field.
- Experience working in a healthcare setting, particularly in outpatient orthopedics or musculoskeletal therapy, is preferred.
- Proficiency in various therapeutic techniques, modalities, and patient education practices.
- Excellent communication skills with a strong emphasis on providing patient-centered care.
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems is an advantage.
Preferred Experience
- Two years of relevant professional experience in an outpatient orthopedic or rehabilitation setting is highly desirable.
- Experience working collaboratively within a healthcare team, demonstrating versatility and adaptability in patient care.
- New graduates with relevant clinical experience through internships are encouraged to apply.
Compensation and Benefits
