Stand Point PT is seeking a dedicated and skilled Orthopedic Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to become an integral member of our dynamic team in Mesquite, Texas. In this full-time, onsite position within a hospital setting, you will work closely under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist, supporting patient recovery and rehabilitation through hands-on therapy. Your role will be pivotal in developing and implementing individualized treatment plans tailored to meet the unique needs of each patient, guiding them towards their functional recovery goals.

Work Environment
As a Physical Therapist Assistant at Stand Point PT, you will be stationed onsite at our hospital facility in Mesquite, Texas. This environment allows you to work closely alongside physical therapists, medical professionals, and support staff in a setting that promotes teamwork and patient-focused care. Our clinic is equipped with state-of-the-art rehabilitation technology and tools to facilitate optimal recovery. Your typical work schedule will be Monday through Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM, allowing for a balanced work-life integration.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care by implementing treatment plans established by the supervising Physical Therapist.
- Utilize various therapeutic exercises, modalities, manual therapy techniques, and functional training to enhance patient mobility and strength.
- Regularly monitor and assess patient progress, adjusting therapy techniques as needed while keeping the supervising therapist informed of any significant changes.
- Educate patients on rehabilitation techniques aimed at improving mobility, educating them on injury prevention, and helping them reach personal rehabilitation milestones.
- Maintain detailed and accurate documentation of each patient's treatment and progress, in compliance with clinic protocols and state regulations.
- Actively engage in team discussions, participate in quality improvement initiatives, and attend case meetings to enhance treatment approaches and patient outcomes.
- Foster a motivating and safe clinical environment that encourages patient engagement and adherence to their rehabilitation plans.
Patient Population / Client Focus
Your primary focus will be on patients undergoing orthopedic rehabilitation, including those recovering from surgeries, sports injuries, and musculoskeletal disorders. You will work with a diverse demographic, requiring tailored approaches to address individual backgrounds and challenges. By integrating compassionate care with clinical expertise, you will become a trusted resource and mentor to patients navigating their recovery.
Qualifications
- Must possess a Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Current license to practice as a Physical Therapist Assistant in the state of Texas (or eligibility to obtain one).
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills to enhance collaboration with patients and staff.
- A genuine passion for orthopedic and musculoskeletal rehabilitation.
Preferred Experience
- At least two years of experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant, preferably in an outpatient orthopedic or sports rehabilitation setting.
- Understanding or certification in manual therapy, neuromuscular reeducation, or specialized rehabilitation techniques is preferred.
Compensation and Benefits
