Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the implementation of individualized treatment plans designed by licensed Physical Therapists focusing on orthopedic rehabilitation needs.
- Monitor and document patient progress during each session, ensuring accurate records that allow for effective treatment adaptations.
- Educate patients regarding appropriate home exercises and best practices to maximize their rehabilitation results.
- Provide feedback to supervising Physical Therapists on patient status, including successes and areas requiring improvement.
- Maintain a safe, sanitary, and organized clinical setting, with a focus on promoting a positive experience for all patients.
- Encourage and motivate patients throughout their therapy sessions, reinforcing their engagement in the rehabilitation process.
Patient Population / Client Focus
You will primarily work with a diverse patient population with varying orthopedic conditions and injuries. This includes athletes recovering from sports injuries, patients rehabilitating after orthopedic surgeries, and individuals managing chronic pain conditions. Your empathetic approach and strong communication skills will be crucial in building trust and rapport with patients, leading to enhanced recovery outcomes.
Qualifications
- Current licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant in Florida or eligibility for licensure.
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
- A strong interest in orthopedic physical therapy, along with a foundational understanding of therapeutic exercises and manual techniques.
- Demonstrated commitment to compassionate, professional, and patient-centered care.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, paired with effective time management capabilities.
Preferred Experience
- A minimum of 2 years working experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant, specifically in an orthopedic setting.
- Experience working collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team, fostering open communication and teamwork.
- Previous involvement in educational initiatives or community outreach programs aimed at improving patient awareness of physical health.
Compensation and Benefits
We offer a competitive salary ranging from $60,000 to $75,000 annually, commensurate with experience. Our comprehensive benefits package includes health, dental, and vision insurance, life insurance, and a 401(k) plan with employer matching.
