PhysioSpace LLC is actively seeking a dedicated and licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to become an integral part of our orthopedic outpatient facility located in Abingdon, Virginia. This full-time role requires a compassionate professional who is eager to collaborate with a licensed Physical Therapist (PT) in delivering hands-on therapeutic care to patients recovering from musculoskeletal injuries and surgeries. As a PTA, you will play a critical role in enhancing patients' rehabilitation journey and helping them regain their mobility and independence.

Work Environment
This role is situated within a hospital setting that features state-of-the-art equipment and facilities designed specifically for rehabilitation services. Working onsite, you will be part of a multidisciplinary team that includes physical therapists, occupational therapists, and support staff. Our normal operating hours are Monday through Friday, from 9 AM to 5 PM, allowing for a balanced work-life integration. The environment is dynamic and patient-centered, providing you with the opportunity to interact closely with patients during their recovery.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement individualized treatment plans developed by the supervising Physical Therapist to facilitate improvements in patients' mobility, strength, and overall function.
- Administer various therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques, and functional training sessions tailored to the specific needs of each patient.
- Apply therapeutic modalities such as ultrasound, electrical stimulation, and cryotherapy under the guidance of the supervising PT, ensuring that protocols are followed closely for each treatment session.
- Monitor and document patient progress meticulously, including their responses to therapy, tailoring interventions to optimize recovery.
- Engage in frequent collaboration with the PT and other healthcare professionals to assess treatment outcomes and make necessary adjustments to care plans.
- Educate patients about their home exercise regimens, injury prevention strategies, and lifestyle modifications to support long-term recovery and health maintenance.
- Maintain up-to-date and accurate documentation aligned with clinic policies and healthcare regulations to ensure high-quality patient care.
Patient Population / Client Focus
The primary patient population at our facility consists of individuals recovering from orthopedic surgeries, such as joint replacements and ligament repairs, as well as those managing chronic musculoskeletal conditions. Our clients include athletes, active adults, and older patients seeking to regain their mobility and strength following injury or surgery. As a PTA, your approach will directly influence their rehabilitation process and overall experience.
Qualifications
- Active and valid Physical Therapist Assistant license issued by the state of Virginia.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program, reflecting a solid foundation in therapeutic practices.
Preferred Experience
- A minimum of two years of experience in an orthopedic outpatient or rehabilitation setting is preferred, allowing for a deeper understanding of patient needs and treatment modalities.
Compensation and Benefits
We offer a competitive salary range of $90,000 to $120,000 per year, complemented by a comprehensive benefits package that includes:
