Reinforce Physical Therapy is seeking a dedicated and empathetic Orthopedic Physical Therapist Assistant to join our exceptional team in Santa Clarita, California. Work Environment
This full-time position operates onsite at our modern hospital-based facility, where we prioritize collaboration and communication among multidisciplinary teams. You will primarily assist in outpatient treatment scenarios, engaging patients in rehabilitation exercises while monitoring their progress closely. Schedule options include weekdays with shifts available from 9 AM to 5 PM or 8 AM to 4 PM, allowing for a balanced professional and personal life.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist Physical Therapists in conducting thorough evaluations of patients, considering their physical abilities, needs, and rehabilitation goals.
- Implement and modify treatment plans devised by Physical Therapists to optimize mobility, strength, and overall functional capacity of patients.
- Administer hands-on physical therapy techniques, such as manual therapy and therapeutic exercises designed for a variety of musculoskeletal and neurological conditions.
- Collaborate effectively with other healthcare professionals, including physicians and occupational and speech therapists, to ensure an integrated approach to each patient's care.
- Educate patients and their families on home exercise programs, techniques to improve recovery, and the safe use of adaptive equipment to foster independence.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive documentation of patient treatment progress, interventions delivered, and relevant discharge plans in accordance with facility policies and regulatory guidelines.
- Actively engage in ongoing training and professional development, pursuing additional certifications that enhance skill sets relevant to orthopedic therapy.
Patient Population / Client Focus
This role primarily focuses on orthopedic patients recovering from surgeries, fractures, sports injuries, and chronic pain conditions, encompassing individuals of varying ages and abilities. As a Physical Therapist Assistant, you will play a crucial role in instilling hope and motivation in patients as they navigate their recovery journey, tailoring your approach to meet each individual's unique circumstances and rehabilitation goals.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
- Graduation from a CAPTE-accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
- A valid California PTA License.
- Strong clinical assessment and treatment skills with a focus on patient-centered care.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, aiding in effective interaction with patients, families, and the multidisciplinary team.
Preferred Experience
- At least one year of experience in a clinical setting, preferably within an orthopedic or rehabilitation environment.
- Demonstrated ability to engage in collaborative team initiatives and adapt to evolving patient needs.
- Experience with electronic medical record (EMR) systems to record patient data efficiently.
Compensation and Benefits
This position offers a competitive annual salary ranging from USD 50,000 to 70,000, commensurate with experience. In addition to salary, we provide a comprehensive benefits package, including:
