Athletic Edge Physiotherapy is seeking a dedicated and passionate Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our dynamic team in Irvine, California. In this full-time position, you will work collaboratively with licensed Physical Therapists to deliver high-quality orthopedic rehabilitation services, ensuring that our patients regain their strength, mobility, and independence as quickly and safely as possible.

Work Environment
This onsite role is set in a well-equipped hospital facility where you will be engaged in a variety of rehabilitation practices. Our team works Monday to Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM, creating a balanced and supportive professional environment that fosters collaboration and communication. You will have the opportunity to work closely with a multidisciplinary team to enhance patient care and outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist licensed Physical Therapists in developing and implementing individualized treatment plans tailored to the unique needs of patients suffering from orthopedic conditions.
- Administer therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques, and various modalities to effectively support each patient's recovery journey.
- Continuously monitor and document patient progress using electronic health records (EHR), providing valuable feedback that informs the treatment plan during patient visits.
- Educate patients on exercises, injury prevention strategies, and effective movement patterns to promote long-term health and wellness.
- Set up and operate therapeutic equipment safely, ensuring that all protocols are followed for maximum effectiveness and patient safety.
- Maintain detailed and accurate patient records in compliance with clinic policies, ensuring a clear communication flow with the healthcare team.
- Engage with patients and their families to explain treatment plans in a comprehensible manner, addressing any questions or concerns that may arise.
- Uphold a clean and organized treatment environment, contributing positively to clinic operations and providing assistance where required.
Patient Population / Client Focus
In this role, you will be primarily focused on patients undergoing rehabilitation for orthopedic injuries. This includes athletes recovering from sports-related injuries, individuals recovering from surgeries, and patients with chronic pain conditions. Your ability to connect with patients on a personal level will be essential in fostering trust and enhancing their motivation to participate in their rehabilitation programs.
Qualifications
- A valid Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) License issued in California.
- A Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field, with graduation from an accredited PTA program.
- Strong foundational knowledge of orthopedic rehabilitation techniques and modalities, with a proven ability to follow treatment protocols.
- Exceptional communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and educate patients.
- A compassionate, patient-focused approach, emphasizing the importance of delivering high-quality care to all patients.
- Current CPR/BLS certification is required.
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) and clinic management software is a desirable asset.
Preferred Experience
- At least two years of experience in outpatient orthopedic therapy is preferred, though qualified new graduates may also be considered.
- Hands-on experience with diverse therapeutic tools and technologies typically used in a rehabilitation setting.
Compensation and Benefits
The compensation for this position ranges from $100,000 to $120,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
