Reinforce Physical Therapy is seeking a dedicated and skilled Orthopedic Rehabilitation Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our dynamic team in San Jose, California. Work Environment
This position is primarily onsite in a vibrant hospital setting where you'll collaborate with a diverse team of healthcare providers. The work schedule is from Monday to Friday, with flexible hours either 9 AM to 5 PM or 8 AM to 4 PM, allowing for a work-life balance while engaging in meaningful patient care. Key Responsibilities
- Assist Physical Therapists in conducting comprehensive evaluations of patients' physical abilities, gathering necessary data and feedback to inform treatment strategies.
- Implement and execute individualized treatment plans devised by Physical Therapists, focusing on improving mobility, strength, balance, and functional capabilities.
- Administer therapeutic exercises and manual therapy techniques designed to alleviate pain and enhance recovery from musculoskeletal and neurological conditions.
- Engage in collaborative discussions with a multidisciplinary team, which may include physicians, occupational therapists, and speech-language pathologists to coordinate holistic patient care.
- Educate patients and their families about home exercise programs, the correct use of adaptive equipment, and strategies for injury prevention to promote self-management.
- Maintain meticulous records of patient progress, documenting treatment interventions and preparing discharge recommendations in compliance with regulatory standards and Reinforce Physical Therapy policies.
- Participate in ongoing professional development activities, including attending workshops and pursuing advanced certifications, to stay current with best practices in physical therapy.
Patient Population / Client Focus
In this role, you will have the opportunity to work closely with a diverse patient population, including individuals recovering from orthopedic surgeries, sports injuries, and age-related musculoskeletal issues. Qualifications
- Graduation from a CAPTE-accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program is required.
- Possession of a current California Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license and an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree in Physical Therapy Assistance is essential.
- Demonstrated strong clinical assessment and treatment skills, coupled with a passion for providing compassionate patient care.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with patients and team members.
Preferred Experience
- At least one year of experience in an orthopedic rehabilitation setting is highly desirable, which may include experience in outpatient clinics or hospital rehabilitation programs.
- Experience working with a variety of patient demographics, including the elderly and pediatric populations, is an asset.
Compensation and Benefits
