Work Environment
You will work onsite in a state-of-the-art facility focused on outpatient therapy. Key Responsibilities
- Support Physical Therapists in performing initial evaluations and assessing patients' physical abilities, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of their conditions.
- Implement treatment plans devised by Physical Therapists to enhance patient mobility, stability, and functional independence.
- Administer a variety of therapeutic techniques, including manual therapy, therapeutic exercises, and various modalities tailored to treat specific orthopedic conditions.
- Work closely with interdisciplinary teams, including physicians and occupational therapists, to ensure cohesive patient care and facilitate successful rehabilitation outcomes.
- Educate patients and their families about home exercise regimens, the use of adaptive equipment, and techniques for preventing re-injury.
- Maintain accurate records of patient progress, documenting treatment interventions and discharge recommendations in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Participate in professional development opportunities, attending workshops and obtaining certifications to advance clinical skills.
Patient Population / Client Focus
This position focuses on a diverse range of patients, including individuals recovering from surgical interventions, sports-related injuries, and chronic pain conditions. You will engage with patients of various ages and backgrounds, providing compassionate and personalized care tailored to each individual's rehabilitation goals.
Qualifications
- Graduation from a CAPTE-Accredited Physical Therapist Assistant Program.
- Possession of a valid California Physical Therapist Assistant (CA PTA) license and an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree in Physical Therapy.
- Strong clinical assessment and treatment skills, with an ability to adapt to the needs of varied patient populations.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, fostering rapport with patients and collaboration with team members.
Preferred Experience
- A minimum of one year of experience in a clinical setting, preferably in outpatient orthopedic therapy.
- Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems for accurate documentation and patient management.
- Familiarity with a variety of therapeutic modalities and evidence-based practices in physical therapy.
Compensation and Benefits
