Work Environment
Working onsite in our modern rehabilitation facility, you will have direct access to state-of-the-art equipment and resources designed to support superior patient outcomes. You will work Monday to Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM, enjoying a stable schedule that promotes work-life balance while engaging in fulfilling patient interactions.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough assessments of patients' physical capabilities through evaluations that consider their medical history, physical limitations, and personal goals.
- Develop and implement tailored treatment plans that focus on therapeutic exercises, functional mobility, pain management, and fall prevention strategies.
- Provide hands-on therapy using various techniques including manual therapy and specific modalities, ensuring that each session is meaningful and productive.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive documentation of patient progress, modifications to therapy plans, and outcomes to ensure continuity of care.
- Engage in multidisciplinary collaborations with physicians, occupational therapists, and speech therapists to create a holistic care strategy for our patients.
- Educate patients and their families on effective therapeutic practices, emphasizing the importance of home exercises and safety measures at home and in the assisted living environment.
- Foster a culture of safety by implementing fall prevention programs tailored to the needs of our senior clientele.
- Stay abreast of advancements in physical therapy and participate in continuing education opportunities to enhance your therapeutic skills.
Patient Population / Client Focus
Your primary focus will be our geriatric population, consisting of older adults who may experience chronic pain, mobility challenges, or recovery needs post-surgery. You will play a crucial role in enabling our patients to achieve greater independence and improved quality of life. Each patient's experience will be personalized, allowing you to make a real impact on their journey toward better health.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited college or university is required; a Master's or Doctorate degree is preferred.
- Active state licensure to practice as a Physical Therapist in Texas.
- Proficient use of electronic medical records (EMRs) is necessary for documentation and patient management.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with patients and their families, as well as to collaborate effectively with healthcare team members.
- Strong dedication to patient-centered care, with a focus on promoting independence and functional recovery.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a cohesive team, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in a rehabilitation setting.
Preferred Experience
- At least one year of experience in geriatric therapy is preferred, although new graduates who are passionate about working with older clients are welcome to apply.
- Familiarity with evidence-based practices in physical therapy and the latest therapeutic techniques will be advantageous.
