Work Environment
This PTA position is stationed onsite in a hospital setting, allowing for a dynamic work atmosphere that involves direct interaction with both medical professionals and patients. The center operates on a Monday to Friday schedule, with flexible shift options including traditional hours from 8 AM to 4 PM or 9 AM to 5 PM. We also offer an alternative schedule of four 10-hour shifts for those seeking a work-life balance without weekend commitments. As part of our team, you will collaborate in multidisciplinary care approaches to optimize rehabilitation outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with licensed Physical Therapists in the execution of individualized care plans, ensuring patients adhere to their prescribed therapeutic regimens.
- Facilitate therapeutic exercise sessions, guiding patients through exercises designed to strengthen weaknesses and improve overall mobility and functionality.
- Monitor patient progress, adjusting treatment methods as necessary to align with their rehabilitation goals, while providing continuous feedback and encouragement.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, ensuring all therapy equipment is in good condition and readily available to maximize therapeutic efficiency.
- Implement patient education initiatives, providing clear and actionable guidance to help patients manage their conditions effectively.
Patient Population / Client Focus
Your primary focus will be a diverse patient population including individuals recovering from orthopedic surgeries, injuries, and chronic conditions. Many of our clients are active adults and seniors eager to enhance their mobility and regain their quality of life. Your role as a PTA is pivotal in providing personalized attention and encouragement, creating a supportive environment that fosters successful rehabilitation and enhances patient satisfaction.
Qualifications
- Must possess an Associate's Degree in Physical Therapist Assistant from an accredited institution.
- Active Physical Therapist Assistant license in the state of Florida is required.
- Passion for patient care and a strong commitment to improving patient outcomes.
Preferred Experience
- While 2 years of outpatient orthopedic experience is preferred, new graduates with a strong desire to learn and a positive attitude are encouraged to apply.
- Experience with electronic health records and outcome tracking systems would be advantageous.
Compensation and Benefits
The annual salary for this position ranges between USD 55,000 and 60,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
