Resurge Rehab & Therapy is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Outpatient Orthopedic Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our compassionate team in Fairfax, Virginia. Work Environment
Located within a dynamic hospital setting, the ideal candidate will thrive in an onsite environment designed to facilitate direct patient interaction and access to advanced therapeutic resources. Our facility is equipped with the latest rehabilitation technologies and equipment, giving PTAs the tools necessary to provide effective treatment. The work schedule is primarily Monday through Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM, allowing for a balanced professional and personal life.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer prescribed physical therapy treatments under the mentorship and guidance of a licensed Physical Therapist.
- Assist patients with therapeutic exercises, including strength training, flexibility techniques, and manual therapy modalities to facilitate recovery.
- Monitor and document patient progress accurately, reporting any changes in patient conditions to the supervising PT to ensure optimal care.
- Engage and motivate patients in their rehabilitation journey by educating them on home exercise programs and strategies for pain management and mobility.
- Maintain precise and timely documentation in adherence to clinic, payer, and legal standards to ensure compliance and quality care.
- Contribute to creating a welcoming and patient-centered clinic environment by demonstrating excellent interpersonal skills and professional empathy.
Patient Population / Client Focus
This role focuses on outpatient orthopedic rehabilitation, primarily serving adults recovering from surgeries, injuries, or chronic conditions that affect their mobility. Our patients come from diverse backgrounds, and an understanding of varied mobility goals is essential. As a PTA, you will work closely with individuals who have undergone orthopedic procedures or those seeking to enhance their functional performance, playing a pivotal role in their recovery and rehabilitation process.
Qualifications
- Graduated with an Associate Degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
- Possess an active Virginia PTA license or demonstrate eligibility to obtain one.
- CPR/BLS certification is mandatory.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.
- A strong desire to help others regain independence through effective rehabilitation practices.
Preferred Experience
- At least two years of relevant clinical experience.
- Previous experience in an outpatient orthopedic setting is preferred; however, new graduates with strong clinical training are encouraged to apply.
Compensation and Benefits
The compensation package for this position ranges from $60,000 to $75,000 per year, complemented by a comprehensive benefits program that includes:
