We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our vibrant outpatient rehabilitation team at MobiCare Rehab Center in beautiful Westport, Connecticut. Work Environment
This role is based in an onsite hospital setting, where you'll have access to a variety of therapeutic equipment and resources that enhance patient treatment. The center fosters a positive and professional atmosphere, encouraging teamwork and open communication. You will be part of a fast-paced outpatient department where you will interact closely with healthcare professionals and support staff to ensure a seamless patient experience. Your typical workweek will be Monday through Friday, from 9 AM to 5 PM, allowing for a healthy work-life balance.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement treatment plans developed by a licensed Physical Therapist, using appropriate therapeutic techniques and modalities to facilitate patient recovery.
- Monitor patient progress during therapy sessions and provide detailed feedback to the supervising Physical Therapist, helping to adjust treatment plans as necessary.
- Ensure comprehensive documentation of patient treatments, progress notes, and outcomes using our electronic health record system.
- Maintain and organize treatment areas, including therapeutic equipment, to promote a safe and effective environment for patient care.
- Educate patients and their families about exercise protocols and self-care strategies to support recovery outside the clinic setting.
- Set up and monitor therapeutic modalities, such as ultrasound or electrical stimulation equipment, ensuring patient safety and effectiveness during usage.
- Work collaboratively with the healthcare team, attending team meetings and contributing to multidisciplinary discussions about patient care plans.
Patient Population / Client Focus
In this role, you will primarily work with a diverse group of patients, ranging from post-operative individuals to those recovering from sports injuries or managing chronic pain. Each rehabilitation program is tailored to meet the unique needs of each patient, ensuring a focus on restoring function, enhancing mobility, and promoting independence in daily activities.
Qualifications
- Successful completion of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program; a Bachelor's degree is preferred.
- Current licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant in the state of Connecticut.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.
- Proficiency in understanding physical therapy techniques and patient care protocols.
Preferred Experience
- A minimum of 2 years of experience working in an outpatient physical therapy setting is highly preferred.
- Experience with electronic health record systems and documentation processes.
- CPR and First Aid certification is a plus.
Compensation and Benefits
This position offers a competitive salary ranging from $60,000 to $65,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
