Position Overview
The MobiCare Rehab Center is seeking a dedicated and skilled Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our team in Norwalk, Connecticut. As a crucial member of our outpatient rehabilitation team, you will play a vital role in assisting licensed Physical Therapists with the implementation of individualized treatment plans designed to enhance patient mobility, alleviate pain, and support their recovery journey. This is a full-time position, scheduled Monday through Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM.

Work Environment
As a Physical Therapist Assistant at MobiCare Rehab Center, you will work onsite in our state-of-the-art hospital facility located in Norwalk. Key Responsibilities
- Assist in implementing patient treatment plans under the direct supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist, ensuring technical competency in all care activities.
- Monitor each patient's progress throughout their rehabilitation journey, documenting findings and adjustments to treatment plans, and communicating changes effectively to the supervising therapist.
- Thoroughly document treatment procedures, outcomes, and patient progress in a timely manner, contributing to the continuity of care.
- Maintain treatment areas and equipment by ensuring cleanliness, organization, and availability of necessary supplies to create a safe and efficient environment for patient care.
- Support the healthcare team by coordinating care plans and communicating important patient information between team members.
- Set up and monitor therapeutic equipment during treatments, ensuring patient safety and therapeutic effectiveness.
- Provide patient education focused on home exercise programs and self-care strategies, empowering patients to take charge of their recovery.
Patient Population / Client Focus
You will work with a diverse patient population, including individuals recovering from orthopedic surgeries, sports injuries, chronic pain, and neurological conditions. Our goal is to support each patient as they regain strength and mobility, fostering independence through personalized rehabilitation strategies.
Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program; a Bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred.
- Current licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant in the state of Connecticut, ensuring compliance with local healthcare regulations.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Familiarity with electronic medical record systems and documentation processes is advantageous.
Preferred Experience
- A minimum of two years' experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant, preferably within an outpatient setting.
- Certification in CPR and First Aid, enhancing your ability to respond effectively in emergency situations.
- Experience with specialized rehabilitation techniques or equipment is a plus.
Compensation and Benefits
MobiCare Rehab Center offers a competitive salary range of $60,000 – $65,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
