Work Environment
Your work setting will be in a supportive, hospital-based clinic that is fully equipped with state-of-the-art rehabilitation tools and technology. Key Responsibilities
- Assist Physical Therapists in the implementation of individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient's specific needs and recovery goals.
- Guide patients through therapeutic exercises and functional activities, ensuring correct techniques while providing motivation and support.
- Administer hands-on care, including therapeutic modalities and manual techniques as directed by the supervising Physical Therapist.
- Monitor patient progress meticulously, documenting detailed notes, and effectively communicating updates within the team to refine treatment as necessary.
- Educate patients on exercise techniques, rehabilitation processes, and injury prevention, fostering empowerment and independence in their recovery journey.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming clinic environment, ensuring that all equipment is safe and readily available for use.
Patient Population / Client Focus
The outpatient clinic caters to a broad range of patients, from elite athletes seeking to enhance performance and recover from injuries to post-operative clients aiming for a return to daily activities. Our compassionate and knowledgeable staff are dedicated to supporting every individual through personalized care, addressing conditions such as orthopedic injuries, neurological disorders, and post-operative rehabilitation, thus enhancing their quality of life.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor's Degree in any field is required; an Associate's Degree from a CAPTE-accredited PTA program is preferred.
- Current or eligibility for a Connecticut Physical Therapist Assistant license.

- Demonstrated strong communication and interpersonal skills necessary for meaningful patient interactions.

Preferred Experience
- Two years of relevant experience in a physical therapy setting is preferred.

Compensation and Benefits
The Physical Therapist Assistant role offers a competitive salary ranging from $60,000 to $75,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
