Healing Hands Physical Therapy, located in the heart of Lee's Summit, Missouri, is seeking a dedicated and skilled Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our team in a full-time capacity. In this role, you will collaborate closely with licensed Physical Therapists to implement treatment plans and deliver personalized rehabilitation programs that are instrumental in restoring patients' mobility and improving their daily functionality.

Work Environment
This position is based onsite in our outpatient therapy facility within a hospital setting in Lee's Summit. Our work environment is dynamic yet structured, where the emphasis is placed on teamwork and patient care excellence. You will work Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, or opt for a schedule of four 10-hour shifts (Monday–Thursday or Tuesday–Friday), allowing for a balanced work-life commitment. With no weekend shifts, you will have the opportunity to recharge and engage fully with your patients during the week.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist Physical Therapists by implementing individualized treatment plans and providing hands-on therapy to patients.
- Guide patients through therapeutic exercises and rehabilitation activities, ensuring adherence to established safety standards and protocols.
- Document patient progress accurately and promptly, ensuring all findings are reported to supervising Physical Therapists to assess treatment efficacy.
- Maintain and organize treatment areas and equipment, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for patients.
- Conduct assessments of patients' balance, coordination, and proprioception to inform treatment modifications.
- Support clinic operations through scheduling and patient intake processes, while handling basic administrative tasks to streamline workflows.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to enhance patient care quality and clinic efficiency.
Patient Population / Client Focus
As a Physical Therapist Assistant at Healing Hands, you will primarily work with a diverse patient population, including those recovering from orthopedic surgeries, sports injuries, and various musculoskeletal conditions. Your role is pivotal in guiding them toward recovery, enhancing their physical abilities, and ensuring they receive the encouragement and support necessary to achieve their rehabilitation goals.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy Assistant from an accredited educational institution.
- Current licensure to practice as a Physical Therapist Assistant in Missouri.
- A minimum of two years of clinical experience in an outpatient setting or a similar healthcare environment.
- Proficient in using Electronic Medical Records software, such as WebPT, to document patient interactions and treatment outcomes.
- Exceptional manual therapy skills, demonstrating the ability to perform therapeutic exercises under the guidance of a licensed Physical Therapist.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively educate patients and their families on recovery and rehabilitation strategies.
Preferred Experience
- Experience working in a fast-paced outpatient therapy setting, managing a caseload of 1-2 patients per hour.
- Familiarity with various therapeutic modalities and rehabilitation techniques to address diverse patient needs.
Compensation and Benefits
